Player Scholarships

Scholarships are made available through the Willmar Baseball/Fastpitch Booster Association. There are a limited number of scholarships available each year for families that would benefit from help with paying player fees for baseball or fastpitch softball. Scholarship Criteria


Ø  Scholarships are available for YOUTH Baseball and Softball Players 18 years old & under

Ø  Scholarships are confidential, a 3 person panel will review and award a limited number of player scholarships each year. Names of applicants are kept confidential through the entire process.

Ø  Applications are due by June 1, 2018.

Ø  Scholarship contribution can be awarded up to 80% of the team player fee with a maximum amount of $200 per player per season.

Ø  Player must live or attend school in the Willmar School District or Community Christian School.

Ø  Player must play on a Willmar baseball or softball team.

Ø  The Scholarship funds will be paid directly to the traveling team or association.

Ø  An Award letter will be provided to each family awarded a Scholarship.

Ø  Player must have good attendance for practices and games. If the player regularly misses practices and/or games or quits the team for any reason they would be ineligible for future scholarships.

Ø  Scholarships are not for equipment.

Ø  Recipients of the scholarship are required to volunteer a minimum of 2 hours at a WBFBA, Willmar Baseball, or Willmar Softball event. Volunteer hours could include working at a tournament, (additional to any required hours by the team), participating at a field work day, or fundraising events. Failure to volunteer could negatively affect future scholarship eligibility.
